Peters questions work of UN peacekeepers in Lebanon

Foreign Minister Winston Peters has appeared to question the work of United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon, saying it was hard to understand how they had missed “evidence of terrorist action” near observation posts.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) peacekeeping mission was set up in 1978 after Israel’s invasion of southern Lebanon, and has been tasked with restoring peace and security in the area throughout the following decades.
